For their summer 2011 issue, On the Bay ran a major article on the ‘sunken history’ of Georgian Bay, featuring the wreck of the Mary Ward.
In the article, Richard Bowering tells how he stumbled on the wreck by sheer accident seven years ago when rough weather forced him to take shelter on a reef.
The location was previously a well-kept secret, known only to local fishermen.

Catch Eagle Adventures on CTV’s morning show at 6am on Wednesday July 20th, 2011
The segment will feature our trips to the Wreck of the Mary Ward and free kayak and canoe instruction for the live audience.
Our first Ladies Paddle program session on June 19th was a huge success.
After a briefing on equipment, what to wear and safety, we slid into the waters of Georgian Bay at Collingwood to practice our strokes.
When everyone was comfortable, we set of across the bay and up a creek, a lazy paddle on a glorious sunny day in gorgeous surroundings.
Everyone had a great time!
